This is the second year for the fan-voted iHeartradio music awards and it will air on NBC on March 29. The categories include: Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best New Artist, Country Song of the Year, Hip Hop/R&B Song of the Year, Dance Song of the Year, Alternative Rock Song of the Year, Best Lyrics, Best Fan Army, and Renegade.
I listen to the Bobby Bones show every morning and after hearing them make their iHeartradio music awards picks, I started thinking about who I would choose.
Here are my picks of who I think will win/should win:
Read MoreEver since you were little, your parents and relatives have always told you, “Don’t play those video games for so long!” But, of course, you didn’t heed their foolish precautionary remarks. You had to keep playing. You can’t just pause it.
Video games have been confusing the baby boomer generation for a while now, but what if your grandma’s warning that “you play that game so much you’ll die” was true?
I discovered a recent article about a Chinese man who died after playing one of my favorite games, World of Warcraft, for 19 hours straight. The guy was at an internet cafe (a foreign concept here in the land of free WI-FI) when his friend caught him away from the screen “looking very pale” and having a coughing fit. After dabbing blood from his mouth, his friends decided to call an ambulance, but alas, it was too late. This man had died from prolonged World of Warcraft exposure.

Initially, these statistics were surprising, but after I thought about personal life, I realized this is nothing to be shocked about.
I love food. I have no idea how much money I actually spend on food from a restaurant, but I would estimate at least $10 to $20 a week. For a single person this is probably not much, because I eat most of my meals at home.
Read MoreWhile surfing the web recently, I came across an article on Yahoo about “Normal Barbies.” The new dolls are called “Lammily,” which makes sense, because it also happens to be the name of the company. Creative.
These dolls “promote realistic body standards” with features like the average body size of a 19 year-old American woman, acne, stretch marks, and cellulite. Stickers that resemble scars, scrapes, stitches, mosquito bites, bruises and much more can be purchased to make your Lammily even more “realistic.”
First, let me tell you I played with Barbies my entire childhood. They had perfect blonde hair, perfectly painted blue eyes, flat stomachs, basically, perfect bodies. I had tons of Barbies, and they all looked the same – perfect. They all had cool clothes, cool shoes, cool plastic food. Their legs and arms didn’t bend. They didn’t have belly buttons. They were way cooler than I’ll ever be. But, that’s okay, because they’re TOYS. They’re supposed to be cooler than a normal person, which is why it’s so fun to play with them.
Read MoreSitting at the sports desk today and gazing out a nearby window, I’ve watch a hundred scraggly tufts of unkempt facial hair (mostly neckbeards) go scurrying by shamefully. Occasionally a real beard passes by or a whimsical mustache, and I remember all at once that we’re chin deep into No-Shave November, or as I like to call it: November.
Soon the month will draw to its close. Some boys will be unable to bear the heavy weight of manliness any longer. They will go running for salvation in the shaving and shaving accessories aisles of whatever store people like that shop in.
Others will look upon themselves in the mirror and know that they’ve cultivated something truly glorious. In either situation, shaving will suddenly become very important. Even a great beard must be trimmed and edged carefully from time to time.
Whether seeking to smooth oneself completely or trying to keep an epic beard epic, a man must understand the tools of the profoundly masculine ritual of shaving.
