Community fair provides services for students

OCCC hosted the Let’s Talk Community Fair from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Nov. 15 in the College Union and area outside the Communications Lab.

The event was set up to help give students access to information about social service programs in the Oklahoma City area.

Representatives from organizations like the Metropolitan Library System, Oklahoma County Family Drug Court, Girl Scouts of America, and The Education and Employment Ministry had tables set up and lined with pamphlets and brochures containing information about the services they offer.

Oklahoma County Family Drug Court Coordinator Kaiti Hagain said, “The importance (of the event) is getting your program out there into the community, and letting people see what services you offer. Also, to see the other services in the community, so you can try to collaborate with them and see other ways to best serve.”
