OU Health Sciences Center transfer tours Nov. 5

Students who are interested in the schools of medicine, physical therapy, radiology or dentistry can learn more about the University of Oklahoma’s programs at an OU Health Sciences Center transfer tour, said Transfer and Graduation Coordinator Javier Puebla.

Two tours will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 5. Students can meet at OCCC to take a van to the tour.

Puebla said the event will help students plant their associate degree to coincide with their bachelor’s degree and future career plan.

“This will help you know … what the prerequisites are, make sure you take as many of those prerequisites and include them in your degree plan here, and know which ones you have to take at a university,” Puebla said.

Puebla recommends students bring their transcript so the transfer counselor at the university can better answer any questions students have.

He said these study programs have a different admissions process, so it is important for students to understand the application process.

“There are interviews that come afterwards, possibly second interviews and your personal statement carries a lot more weight,” he said. “There are all these factors students really need to know and prepare for.”
