In’N’Out: Come to Oklahoma

I am a Californian living in Oklahoma.

I’ve lived in Oklahoma for almost six years now and I’m very happy here, but it isn’t Cali. Cali isn’t Oklahoma either. One of the ways I could miss home less is if In-N-Out came to Oklahoma. People who’ve had it know it’s good. Damn good.

Did you know that there are 36 In-N-Out restaurants in Texas? 36. TEXAS.

As someone who lives further up North, I am quite offended. Another surprising fact that some may not know is how many people from California actually live in Oklahoma. I’ve come across so many people and understand their reason for heading to the midwest: cost of living.

When they say they miss the food, In-N-Out is usually one of the first, if not their first answer.

My dad recently emailed their corporate office and was surprised they emailed him back, so I thought I’d give it a shot. Tyler from Customer Service thanked me for my “wonderful” email and appreciated my “enthusiasm” for the company.

“We would also like to thank you for your suggestion to open a location in Yukon, Oklahoma. We plan on expanding as far as we can,and particularly into areas in which our customers have expressed interest,” he said. “As such, we are happy to let our Real Estate Department know that you are anxious to have an In-N-Out Burger location in Oklahoma!”

High five, Tyler.

He makes it seem really possible and I think it will really happen. Like most fast-food restaurants, In-N-Out has a “secret” menu. Any In-N-Out fan could tell you what’s on it, because it’s not that big of a secret. I would always order a double-double hamburger, animal fries, and neapolitan shake. I miss that.

I need that.

Animal fries are french fries topped with cheese, onions, and their special sauce. All that mixed together is heaven. A neapolitan shake is exactly what is sounds like: a chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry shake.Their menu is really simple, and really cheap.

In-N-Out would flourish here in Oklahoma.

There are so many places that aren’t good, including those that are “Tex-Mex” which are jam packed all the time. I don’t understand it. We all know the best Mexican food is in Cali, and the best food in general is in Cali.

In-N-Out is such an iconic and classy symbol of California, and there are so many fast-food places.
