Coffee Shop to extend operating hours
Students and professors with night classes will now have another option for evening food and drinks, according to an e-mail documenting the minutes of the Oct. 15 President’s Advisory Council meeting.
The e-mail stated that the OCCC Coffee Shop will now remain open until 8:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.
The decision came after “a comment was made that Food Service closes too early in the evening, leaving students that come … to an evening class without a way to purchase food or refreshment other than from the vending machines.”
A request was then made for the college to look into making a small amount of food available for purchase in the evenings for students and staff, according to the e-mail.
It is the intention to have fresh food options available at the Coffee Shop, the e-mail stated.
The President’s Advisory Council is a monthly meeting headed by President Paul Sechrist. The council includes college faculty and staff, as well as students.
