OCCC honors Domestive Violence Prevention Month

October is Domestic Violence Prevention Month, and OCCC will honor it by hosting a various activities from Oct. 22 through Oct. 24 with various activities on campus.

Cutouts of men, women, and children called silent witnesses will be set up on from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 22 in remembrance of the men women and children who were killed because of domestic violence.

Student life will host a Brown Bag on Healthy Relationships at 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 23 to teach students about co-dependency and relationship issues, personality disorders and addiction, family systems and addiction, boundaries, ethics and more according to a press release on the OCCC website.

 

An alcohol awareness exercise will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in CU3. Students will take part in practical learning experiences about the effects of alcohol on their lives and others, according to the press release.
