LGBT individuals are not alone

The GSA hosted a table to make students aware of National Coming Out Day Oct. 11 in the Main Building.

Club Sponsor Tennent Emmons spoke with students about National Coming Out Day and why the day is important.

“There’s a perception that ‘I’m the only one,’” Emmons said.

The club is there to let them know that there are others and help students who may be concerned with coming out to deal with issues dealing with acceptance and non-acceptance.

The day was recognised so lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people feel more comfortable with telling their loved ones about their orientation.

Emmons said it’s important to let people know that there are others who are L.G.B.T. and that they aren’t alone.
