GET a Job workshop to feature FAA employee
The Graduation, Employment and Transfer (GET) Office is hosting the GET a Job workshop at noon, Tuesday, Oct. 14 in CU2. The workshop will provide several unique perspectives on what employers are looking for in a resumé, said Employment and Graduation Coordinator Christina Atencio.
Omar Molina, OCCC Alumni and Federal Aviation Administration Aviation Safety Analyst, will be the speaker at the workshop.
Atencio said she thinks it will be an empowering session as Molina had to apply for 177 positions before he received the position he has now.
“He gives his input as an employer and also as someone who has had to do job searching himself,” Atencio said. “He also reviews resumes for graduate students so he’ll give a perspective on that as well.”
Molina is a team member of the Foundation for Exceptional Warriors (FEW), which assists in the healing process of the families and veterans of Special Operation Forces.
According to his FEW profile, Molina was awarded the Humanitarian of the Year Award in 2013 and the Motivator of the Year in 2014 by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where he works as an adjunct Professor of Aerospace Safety and Accident Investigation.
