deadCenter announces Filmography series
Oklahoma’s largest film festival and film institute, deadCenter, is expanding its efforts by collaborating with OKC Film Society and 21c Museum Hotel to launch a monthly film series at the hotel at 8 p.m. on every third Friday of the month.
The film series, titled Filmography, is free and open to the public.
“We’re working with 21c this year for various elements to the deadCenter film festival,” Director of Programming and Education for deadCenter Kim Haywood said. “They had been talking to the OKC Film Society about showcasing films at the 21c along with deadCenter. We decided to combine forces and create the showcase.”
21c will be at the Virtual Reality Hub during the 2017 deadCenter Film Festival, scheduled for June.
Haywood said deadCenter likes to collaborate with local businesses and is looking to work with the newly-renovated Tower Theater and Oklahoma Contemporary on other showcases of film.
Haywood said deadCenter hopes to bring more memorable film experiences to OKC in the upcoming year and beyond, in hopes that deadCenter will bring back the communal sense of film again.
