‘Batman Arkham Origins’ makes game debut
As we head into the fall we also head into one of my favorite times of the year. This is a time when big title video games are released and one of my new favorites series comes out in October — “Batman Arkham Origins.”
The game takes place five years before “Arkham Asylum” which was the very first game. In this game, you will be a freshly sculpted Batman.
The gang leader/villain is the Black Mask. He has put a bounty on your head as it falls to Christmas eve and eight assassins have come in to Gotham City to take down the Batman.
The reason I like this series so much is because of the open style of it. It has so much replay value in it that you can do pretty much whatever you want.
The gametype is called a sandbox because you can go in any direction you want. Say you want to stop a group of thugs. You can do that. Or, if you are one of those players who just wants to beat the game, it allows you to do so. Also, it allows you be stealthy, and watch every move you do or wind up in a heap of trouble and then, have to restart the level.
The story itself is phenomenal and has the original cast of voice actors from back when they did the animated cartoon. For those of you who do not know or never watched it, Mark Hamill — most famous for his role as Luke Skywalker — does the voice of the Joker. When I found this out I could not believe it.
The voice actor for Batman is the guy who has always done it — Kevin Conroy. He has acted a little bit, but is most known for being the voice of Batman.
I am as giddy as a schoolgirl for this game to come out. I love the openness of the game, the way it makes you take your time when fighting or being stealthy — and the story itself.
