Students prep for fall break
OCCC’s fall break will be this Thursday and Friday, and many students on campus are ready for a much needed vacation.
Student Todd Howard said he looks forward to having his Thursday class off. Howard said he will be heading south for a trip.
“It took forever to get here,” he said, “But I’m going to Galveston to see the beach. Eight weeks took a long time to get here.”
Although classes are canceled Thursday and Friday, other college amenities will remain open.
Campus offices, including Recruitment and Admissions and Registration, will remain open during normal operating hours during fall break.
Some labs and centers will also open for a limited time:
The Biological Science Lab will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
The Communications Lab will be open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday.
The Math Lab will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
The Physical Science Lab will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, and 8:30 a.m. to noon Friday and Saturday.
The Student Computer Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Saturday.
The Testing Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
The World Languages and Cultures Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.
The Wellness Center will retain normal operating hours from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
In addition, the Keith Leftwich Memorial Library will open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
