Chamber Orchestra Kremlin will be performing at 7:30 p.m. on March 26, in OCCC’s Visual and Performing Arts Center.

Chamber Orchestra Kremlin contacted OCCC after hearing about the theater, having said it was known for its excellent acoustics, said Lemuel Bardeguez, Director of Cultural programs at OCCC.

Despite the Orchestra’s name, it should be noted they aren’t the Russian government’s official Orchestra.

The insertion of “Kremlin” into the orchestra’s name was brought about by the proliferation of similar groups in post-soviet Russia.

“Though they aren’t directly associated with the Kremlin,” said Bardeguez

The Russian orchestra has toured extensively around the world, visiting several continents, and has routinely been called one of Russia’s best by critics around the world.

Founded in 1991 by music director Misha Rachlevsky, the orchestra has played 1500 concerts in 24 countries.

The Orchestra has also won many prestigious awards, including a Critic’s Choice from the New York Times.

All students are encouraged all students to attend. Bardeguez said if students are not able to attend, he recommends giving their ticket to someone else who would appreciate it.

“Above all, I want all students to know that student tickets are free,” he said.
