Testing Center open Sunday for last minute testing
The Testing Center will open at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, until 5 p.m. in order for students to finish any finals they missed over the campus closure, according to an announcement on the OCCC website. The three-day closure was caused by inclement weather last week.
Only the main building will be accessible on Sunday and students will need to use entrances MB1, MB3 and SEM1, according to the announcement.
Students will need to arrive before 4 p.m. as this is when the Testing Center doors will lock.
While some students find the extra day beneficial, some think differently.
Business major Kylar Bailey said he wishes the Testing Center would instead stay open late on Friday.
“I live in Norman, so I try to take as few trips up here as possible,” Bailey said. “If a professor is telling you a due date is Friday, they should be open late on Friday, not on Sunday.”
Physical therapy assistant major Kayla Gosnell said the extra day doesn’t benefit her, because she doesn’t have to worry about making up any finals that day.
Some students will not be able to take advantage of the extension.
Psychology major Skylar Schneider said he won’t be able to use the extra day to his advantage.
“I was going to (take advantage of the extension), but my professors said I only have until Friday,” Schneider said.
Professors now have until midnight on Monday, Dec. 16 to submit final grades. Grades will be available for students to view by noon on Tuesday, Dec. 17, said Tamara Carter, mathematics director.
