Logan said they need at least 100 volunteers because they will have a lot of students coming in who need help finding locations and resources.
“We need tour guides to take the [new and returning] students to where all of their classes are — who will show them around the building, make sure they know how to get to classes, and what parking lots are best to park in…,” Logan said.
She said any current students, faculty or staff members can volunteer. All volunteers will have a free lunch and receive a free Opening Day t-shirt, she said.
She said for Spring semester there are usually 250 to 300 students who come through on Opening Day.
Logan said there is no differences about the Opening Day this semester and previous years except one thing that this year’s event will be a little bit smaller because there are fewer number of students come in.
She said people who want to volunteer for the Opening Day could email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call the Student Life Office at 682-7523, or just show up at the event from 1 – 4 p.m., on Saturday, January 16.
