All OCCC campuses and building will be closed for Memorial Day Weekend May 24 through 26, said President Paul Sechrist in an email.
Sechrist said it’s a good opportunity for the college to save money. “With no activities and no employees working, we can reduce utility and support/safety personnel costs during this time if we can truly be closed and not have employees on campus or in our centers over the long weekend,” he said.
Sechrist said college faculty and staff need to plan ahead for the closing so there won’t be a need to open a building or office during that time.
“As always, your assistance with helping the college reduce costs is greatly appreciated.”
