After 33 years with OCCC, Gloria Barton, Enrollment Management dean, has retired.

A come-and-go retirement reception for Barton was held 2 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the Al Snipes Boardroom.

About 30 faculty and staff members attended the event.

Although she is happy to be retiring, Barton said, she is going to miss working at the college.

Mary Jones, Recruitment and Admissions assistant, said she will miss working with Barton.

“I am happy for her, but sad for me,” Jones said.

Marion Paden, Enrollment and Student Services vice president, said she declined to comment on Barton’s retirement “for fear of crying.”
