OACC accepting nominations for Creative Staff Innovation Awards

The Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges (OACC) is accepting nominations for its Creative Staff Innovation Awards until 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, said OACC Executive Director Gary Davidson.

The awards acknowledge creative ideas within the workplace, particularly those contributed by staff members, Davidson said. He said the awards will be presented at the annual OACC Support Staff Conference Friday, Oct. 3.

“The CSI program is there to recognize and celebrate the great ideas that our support staff have — the ones that have brought about change on their campus,” he said.

Davidson said the nomination procedure was recently updated.

“A supervisor can nominate an employee or an employee can nominate themselves,” Davidson said.

“We changed that from a few years ago because we found a lot of folks don’t like to brag about themselves.

Davidson said the top five ideas will receive cash rewards.

“There’s a first place winner who gets $250, two second place winners who get $150 each and two third place winners who get $100 each.”

The creative staff innovation ideas also are published in an anthology, Davidson said.
