U.S. Rep. James Lankford to speak about state events

U.S. Rep. James Lankford will deliver a “Tuesday Talks” forum on campus Tuesday, Nov. 26 from 6 to 7 p.m. in the college union.

Lankford is expected to report on current Oklahoma events. Questions from attendees are normally accepted, said Gina Quinn, administrative assistant to Executive Vice President Jerry Steward.

All college union rooms will open to make room for over 300 expected to attend, Quinn said.

Of six students interviewed, none were aware of who Lankford is or of the upcoming presentation.

Kenny Downey, business major, said “It doesn’t matter to me,” in regards to voting and Lankford’s presentation.

Downey added that he was 56 and had never voted.

Student Rita Akubueze disagreed.

“When you have the opportunity to vote and your vote counts, you should get involved,” she said.
