Final grade posting postponed because of last week’s tornadoes

Severe storms which hit the state last week have prompted college officials to postpone posting final grades for the spring 2013 semester.

An email from registrar Alan Stringfellow dated May 22, explains extra time was given to accommodate faculty who have been either directly or indirectly affected by the tornados that moved through the state a little more than one week ago.

The new date for faculty to submit grades was today at noon.

Stringfellow said the Registrar’s office will attempt to accommodate any student needing grades immediately.

“It will require the faculty member to initiate a grade change form before this can occur,” Stringfellow said.

In addition, he said, a letter may also be obtained by students needing written confirmation about the delay in grades.

He didn’t say when grades would be available to all students and was unavailable for an interview.

The Pioneer will update this story as more information is available.
