College hosting transfer fair

Around 30 universities will be on campus for the Transfer Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, in the Main Building lobby. Graduation, Employment and Transfer Services Director Javier Puebla said students can expect to see the University of Oklahoma, the University of Central Oklahoma, Oklahoma City University and many more.

Specific schools from OU and UCO also will be at OCCC, as well as Oklahoma State University, the University of North Texas and East Central University.

“OU will have the College of Education, the College of Liberal Arts,” Puebla said. OU Health Science Center will be here, school of Social Work, so several colleges will be represented in addition to the regular prospective student services office.”

Puebla said the fair is a quick way for students to learn about universities that offer programs they are interested in, what scholarships they offer and contact information.

“A lot of students get overwhelmed with the fact they have a lot of options, but if you take the time to briefly go and interact with the schools and get information from each one, you should leave this fair thinking ‘alright, for sure I’m going to be looking at these three schools.’ Then, take your research and that part of your search more seriously and more in-depth,” he said.

Puebla said prizes will be raffled off during the Transfer Fair. Students can get raffle tickets by attending and be entered to win various OCCC gear and laptops.
