Sheryl Crow, one of the leading ladies of mixed music genres such as rock, country, pop and a little soul, recently released her seventh album, “100 Miles From Memphis.”

This album is one that forces listeners to go past the music and actually listen to the lyrics.

“Summer Day” has a real mellow, soulful beat that takes you back to the hippie days of the 1970’s.

There are good movies, bad movies, and movies in between.

“Cyrus,” the latest from Fox Searchlight Pictures, transcends these categories. This movie could qualify as a vile form of psychological torture.

“Cyrus” is currently in selected theaters and is one of those rare films that has absolutely nothing to recommend.

The acting is flat, the dialogue is bland, the cinematography is amateurish, and the plot moves so slowly that the first five minutes of the movie feels like an hour.

The basic plot concept is brilliantly dark. John (John C. Reilly) meets the woman of his dreams at a party that his ex-wife, Jamie (Catherine Keener) forces him to go to.

One of hip-hop’s newest and best arrivals, Drake, aka Aubrey Drake Graham, dropped his first album,“Thank Me Later” last month.

This album is full of true hip-hop beats as well as a host of true hip-hop legends including Lil Weezy, aka Lil Wayne.

He drops more than his required sixteen bars for his Young Money protégé on this disc.

Ironically, Wayne dropped his bars while behind bars, via a phone call.

Trent Reznor, the suicide king of industrial pop, comes out of exile to re-ascend his throne. There he sits, hand in hand with his new queen, covered in blood and soot.

“How to Destroy Angels” is his first musical project since disbanding Nine Inch Nails last year. This time he’s brought along his wife Mariqueen Maandig and co-producer Atticus Ross.

The newest installment of “Predators,” written by Robert Rodriguez and directed by Nimrod Antal, muscled its way into fans’ hearts July 9.

Despite having a small budget, the movie is great and breathes life back into the “Predator” franchise.

In the sequel to “Predator” and “Predator 2,” a group of humans find themselves on a foreign jungle world after being taken from Earth.

The humans are all cold-blooded killers ranging from a mercenaries, to soldiers and convicts.

The only exception to this deadly group of humans is a doctor named Edwin (Topher Grace) whose role is revealed as the movie continues.

Team Edward or Team Jacob? Wherever your allegiance lies, there is plenty to go around in “Eclipse.”

The film is the third of Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight” saga, a series of books-turned-movies centered on Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), a human teenager who is torn between vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and werewolf Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner).

In “Eclipse,” the story takes a dark turn when a series of grisly killings is believed to be the work of newborn vampires: newly-changed monsters whose desire for blood is uncontrollable and insatiable.

Thousands of fans are flocking into theaters to see “Eclipse,” and those fans will not be disappointed because it is easily the best movie in the the “Twilight” saga so far.

The third installment continues the heavy use of character-driven plot lines that made the first two movies work so well.

But it also has the added draw of being the first movie in the series to show the vampires and werewolves in full-out, no-holds-barred warfare.

“The Last Airbender’” swept into theaters July 1 with a large marketing campaign costing $280 million.

Despite grossing about $70 million in its first five days, the movie is a flop.

Overall, the movie is not that impressive, and leaves viewers with a sense of disappointment and wishing for their money back.

Take all the best parts of every slasher movie you can think of, throw in some teddy bears and the result is “Naughty Bear,” the hilariously macabre game released June 28 for PlayStation3.

The gamer plays the titular character, Naughty Bear, a teddy who’s tired of being made fun of and ignored by other bears on Paradise Island.

In retaliation, Naughty takes a butcher knife and sets out to slit his happy neighbor bears’ throats or tries to drive them insane.

Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz (Tim Allen) and the rest of the “Toy Story” crew returned to the big screen after 10 years, released June 30 in “Toy Story 3.”

The animation is cutting edge and is the best of the latest 3-D genre. Even without the IMAX 3-D experience, the film is in-depth and real.
