Incident reports include missing wallet, injury

In latest incident reports, police responded to missing property and a run-away pool deck cleaning machine.

A missing wallet, reported to campus police on Thursday, Feb. 19, was promptly returned to the student —who suspected it had been stolen — by a good samaritan.

A student reported he had placed his wallet and backpack in a Testing Center locker that day. He said he did not under­stand how to secure the locker door properly and had left it unlocked.

Third trespassing at off-campus location reported

Trespassing and a student entering a restricted area were reported to campus police in mid-February.

For the third time in less than two months, a door at OCCC’s Capitol Hill Center was found open by police patrolling the area around 2 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11. The door was secured and all other entrances checked by campus police.

Police Chief James Fitzpatrick said this is a common issue with vacant structures and construction sites.

Stolen iPhone, fence damage reported to campus police

A stolen phone and damage to OCCC property were reported to campus police recently.

At approximately 5:30 p.m. Feb. 9, OCCC student, Taylor Aillo, 18, reported her white iPhone 5 had been stolen. She said she accidentally left it in the Social Science Center restroom and when she went back to retrieve it, it was missing.

Campus Police reviewed security footage, but were unable to identify a suspect.

Altercation in library, vandalism reported

Vandalism and a domestic disturbance were reported to campus police in the last batch of police reports recently received.

A reported disturbance drew police to the library on Tuesday, Jan. 29, for a possible domestic violence call.

A library staffer heard “something hitting a wall and then someone crying,” according to the report. Police located two students studying quietly in the room where the disturbance had taken place. Police interviewed both. An unnamed 17-year-old female said she’d attempted to leave the room during an argument with her boyfriend.

She reportedly pushed her boyfriend after he  had blocked the door. She said he then pushed her. She claimed to have been uninjured and completed a Domestic Violence Lethality Screen for First Responders.

Police investigate attempted theft

An attempted car theft and vandalism were recently reported to campus police.

Police patrolling parking lot A south on Jan. 28 were called to investigate an attempted car theft.

A student said he returned from an afternoon class to find the hood of his 1998 Acura Integra popped open and the steering wheel removed from the column.

Officer Gordon Nelson reported the steering wheel lying in the driver’s seat. The report shows there was extensive damage to the steering column and the steering wheel could not be reattached. The car was towed from the parking lot at the driver’s request.

Stolen car reported to campus cops

A stolen car, stolen merchandise and an arrest for driving with a suspended license top the latest crime reports.

An OCCC student reported to campus police on Wednesday, Jan. 21 that his car had been stolen from a campus parking lot.

Shawn McCarther said his car went missing after he lost his keys at some point earlier in the day. According to the report, McCarther’s 2009 Chevrolet Malibu was recovered the following day by Oklahoma City Police with virtually no damage and all contents accounted for.

Tresspassing reported to police

A disturbance and tresapassing were recently reported.

A student entered a restricted area behind the Wellness Center desk Jan. 21, prompting a call to campus police. Officer Bruce Funderburk was told the man was “creating a disturbance” and being confrontational.

Funderburk interviewed the student and reported him as being “aggressive but relatively polite” in conversation.

Inappropriate behavior reported in library

Campus police were called to the library to investigate a report of  inappropriate behavior on the second floor around 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12.

According to a report filed by Officer Gordon Nelson, library employees had discovered the door of room 207 blocked and the lights out.

It was reported that when the lights were turned on, a male was seen by staff standing in the room while a female remained on the floor “pulling her leggings up.”

Library staff told the two they were calling the police. Both left through the north library stairwell before police arrived.

Woman threatens to kill OCCC employees

A threat, two unconscious women, one thrown video game controller and sexual harassment top crime reports from December.

On Dec. 4 it was reported a belligerent, 48 year-old, female student threatened workers in Registration when she could not be dropped from a course after the withdrawal deadline.

Registration staff reportedly made every attempt to help the student, who they say was “difficult to deal with” but were unsuccessful. The student then told the 19- and 24-year-old workers they’d “better get this done or I’ll kill you.” An investigation is underway.
