Are you eligible for financial aid? Find out at Free College February

Free College February is an orientation with the goal of teaching students the basics of filling out the The Free Application For Federal Student Aid and applying for student aid, from when to file them and more, said Jon Horinek, Recruitment and Admissions director.

He said the orientation will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. each Monday in Library room 120.

An admissions adviser and financial aid adviser from Student Support Services will host the event, open to all.

FAFSA is a federal application that determines any legal U.S. citizen’s eligibility to receive financial aid.

Horinek said OCCC made the decision to host FCF to help more students receive financial aid.

“Forty percent of all college students do not even fill out the FAFSA or apply for student financial aid,” he said.
