All are welcome to attend Veteran’s Day ceremony

Two military veterans, one a student and the other a college staff member, will be featured speakers at OCCC’s Veterans Day ceremony from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, in the College Union.11_11_04_flags

Student Life will be hosting the ceremony, said coordinator Travis Ruddle. Snacks and drinks will be available during the ceremony.

Todd Rudat, who works in the Office of Student Support Services, will talk about his time in U.S. Marines.

“Being a veteran makes me more understanding of students who are veterans and more aware of their needs,” Rudat said. His speech will be on what life is like as a veteran and the challenges he faces.

Student Brian Morrell will also talk about his experience when he served in the U.S. Navy.

These men will be speaking on how the military affected their lives, Ruddle said.

Everyone is invited to attend.
